Starting off Strong with Collaboratory and Senior Leader Support

This Coffee Break will primarily focus on checking in with our campuses to see where they are at with Collaboratory use and how get re-energized and/or start 2024 off strongly. One of Collaboratory’s newest partners, Freed-Hardeman University (FHU) will present their strategy thus far, given that they’ve had early success with their rollout. FHU brings efficiency and intentionality to their outreach and data entry strategy, and will hopefully share some relevant takeaways for all campuses.
Collaboratory Transitions and Succession Planning

Collaboratory implementation, like many things in higher education, often requires creativity and adaptability to move through transitions in leadership, core administrators, students, and institutional/departmental priorities, as well as restructuring and budget considerations. February’s Coffee Break will address/support campuses in thinking about transitions, featuring Christine Bruckner from Illinois State University, sharing her own experience as a Collaboratory administrator working in the University’s Sustainability unit. She started rolling out Collaboratory while working in their Center for Civic Engagement and kept Collaboratory in her work portfolio when shifting offices. In addition to working through transitions, we hope this Coffee Break will allow for some discussion on Succession Planning of the various roles and responsibilities associated with sustaining Collaboratory on your campus, aligning with our theme for the CoP spring series: SUSTAINING COLLABORATORY / ANCHORING COLLABORATORY.
Collaboratory in Institutional Planning

We are discussing how to incorporate and leverage Collaboratory and Community Engagement in institutional strategic planning efforts during March’s Coffee Break. Ellen Szarleta (IU-Northwest) and Jennifer Boehm (IUPUI) will join to discuss their own practice of aligning engagement to institutional priorities and strategic planning.
Sustaining Collaboratory through the Summer and Updates

April’s Coffee Break will wrap up the spring series of Collaboratory’s Community of Practice, focusing on sustaining Collaboratory use. The Collaboratory team will share updates, new shared resources, dive into data sharing options with the new reports, and save some time for some facilitated summer planning.
